Portofino Bakery – Gluten-Free Category Refresh
To our valued customers,
Earlier this year, we were excited to announce that we were taking steps to improve our food safety programs across our operations to better serve our customers.
Despite the ongoing challenges of operating in a COVID-19 environment, we have made significant progress on our food safety programs and after careful consideration and consultation with several industry experts, we have made the decision to temporarily pause our Gluten-Free production and refresh the product line out of a new production facility in the future.
While our current standards for producing Gluten-Free products are very high, including frequent Gluten-Free integrity testing, we have made this decision with the safety of our Celiac and Gluten-Free customers top of mind.
We will take this time to refresh our Gluten-Free product line and find a suitable production location for these products where we can certify them as 100% Gluten-Free. We look forward to being able to serve a broader reach of Gluten-Free customers, including on the Vancouver Mainland for the first time.
Our Celiac and Gluten-Free community mean a tremendous amount to us, and we are making this decision so that we can better serve this community. Our final delivery date for Gluten-Free products before the category refresh will be Thursday September 3rd , 2020.
